Wild works of art by a tame lady?
Love the earth and sun and animals, Despise riches, give
alms to everyone
that asks, Stand up for the stupid and crazy, Devote your
income and labor to others . . . And your
very flesh shall be a great poem.
Walt Whitman
I believe it is no wrong Observation, that Persons of
Genius, and those who are most capable of Art, are always fond of Nature, as
such are chiefly sensible, that all Art consists in the Imitation and Study of
Nature. On the contrary, People of the common Level of Understanding are
principally delighted with the Little Niceties and Fantastical Operations of
Art, and constantly think that finest which is least Natural.
To see the world in a grain of sand, and to see heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hands, and eternity in an hour.
William Blake
You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.
Indira Gandhi
Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.
Carl Jung
It is necessary to keep one's compass in one's eyes and not in the hand, for the hands execute, but the eye judges.
Michelangelo
I looked at my hands, to see if I was de same person now I was free. Dere was such a glory ober eberything, de sun came like gold trou de trees, and ober de fields, and I felt like I was in heaven.
Harriet Tubman
The place to improve the world is first in one's own heart and head and hands.

interesting and original! You are SO creative!
I love these! They have such a mystical feel to them.
Are these all from scans?
you guessed it!
did the scanned hands for ryder's hand piece tip you off? good eye!
very original (as usual)
good photos. I like it.
Super blog - thanks for sharing your interesting perspectives.
Favourite for me were your self-portraits. Intriguing and beautiful.
I'm afraid I'm a bit of an antique but I do prefer art to be beautiful, I find no merit in these modern self-proclaimed artists of ugliness and brutality. It's obvious that life has its ugly aspects but I don't want to see the nasty stuff glorified in art.
Sorry - bit of a rant there - deep feelings poorly expressed.
I really loved your work.
thanks for your comments.
Crowbard, I agree with finding and seeking out beauty, however, our appreciation for beauty grows by seeing the ugly side of life and humanity. I also agree that brutality should not be glorified. Thanks for your thoughts.
